Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS Limited company) is one of the world’s largest providers of information technology, consulting, services and business-process outsourcing which commenced operations in 1968. As of 2007, it is Asia’s largest And India’s No.1 IT services firm with the largest number of employees among all the Indian IT companies with strength of over 100,000 IT consultants in 47 countries. The company generated consolidated revenues of US $4.3 billion for fiscal year ended 31 March 2007 and is listed on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange in India.

TCS is part of one of Asia’s largest conglomerates and most respected groups, the Tata Group, which has interests in areas such as energy, telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, chemicals, engineering and materials. TCS is the first company to be rated at Level 5 maturity for both the CMMI and PCMM framework. It is also the first Indian company to be certified AS 9100: Rev B for design of airframe structures.

I work in side the MATC department, which is the abbreviation for Manpower Allocation Task Committe, and together with Juliana I lead ACE program - The career developmen program TCS has with AIESEC International. My role will be to promote the program in side TCS operations and AIESEC, create demand for new internships, and source the best talent in side AIESEC network for these internships. It involves a lot of different tasks, and is quite diverse (sales, communication, recruitment, HR management, etc). Good side is that you meet high profile members from TCS (top executives), and due this learn on extremely intensive way. We have the ownership of the program, so basicaly I have a lot of freedom to suggest new things, and show sence for creativity and innovation of our processes.

On the end of the month, Juliana and I are heading for some coporate training which will give us better overview of TCS and its core work, which is a must do if we want to make sinergetic effect between our corporate goals and ACE program. In the next few days I will spend a lot of time reading induction documentation so I can integrate faster and start creating real value on my workplace.
