Flock - Eco friendly social web browser
I saw a post about this browser at Lorna Li blog, perfect solution for anyone who has multiple social networks account and needs a good aggregator.
Upon starting, you realize its real power! Engine is based on Firefox, so you can use most of the Firegox extensions on Flock. You have integrated social profile panel, which enables bigger flexibility and real time updates from Facebook, Youtube, Flickr and Twitter.
Here is a screenshoot with the People sidebar. Click for larger image.
Media Browser panel, exteremly good when you want to find your own media (facebook, flickr, youtube, etc) or your friends media.
It has integrated blogging support, so you can easily publish posts and link anything you find on the current page. It doesn’t only support blogging engines like blogger.com or wordpress.com, you can easily connect it with your blog hosted anywhere else.
Also, you can easily upload any media content to flickr, youtube, picasa via integrated uploader and media editor.
Integration of popular mailing software and RSS is there. You can have access to your gmail or yahoo mail account. Browser also scans all rich media content or RSS and suggest you save it or link it for further use.
Shortly, one of the most usefull browsers I saw. Firefox features, enriched with a social networking component, giving you everything you need at one place, easy and efficient. I didn’t used it for a longer time so I can give a real critics of it, but for this few days it proved as a great tool.
I suggest you try it. Especially Flock Green Edition which comes pre-loaded with fresh content from the best sources from across the web about Environment, CSR and Sustainable Development.
Open your Eco-Edition browser daily for updated news, content, and media to feed your interest in global matters affecting our planet.
Stay informed – make a difference!
